Kearns Fanfare Here we go on, onto the moment we've been anticipating, the big game, Rah! Rah! Here! Here we go on! And we're waiting for the game, Rah! Rah! Rah! I can't wait another moment before. I'm anticipating the big game, Rah! Rah! Rah! Here we go on, onto the moment we've been anticipating, the big game, Rah! Rah! Can you feel the energy? The people are getting fired up because the season's on the line today and we must win. The victory means that we make the playoffs. Chorus Here we come! Here we go! See the fans! Fill the show! Cheer the team! Win this one! Some by car. Some by train. We will win this one! Here we come! Here we go! See the fans! Fill the show! Cheer the team! Win this one! Verse 1 Can you smell those delicious sandwiches? Yum! Roasted peanuts, candy, let's go get some more. Buy a t-shirt. Watch the people cheer. Hey, we can win this one. Yes, we are at the game. Our team will come out with the plan to win. We got talent to pull this one out. It's a battle that we've been waiting for. Now, get your ticket out, the game starts right here. Chorus Here we come! Here we go! See the fans! Fill the show! Cheer the team! Win this one! Some by car. Some by train. We will win this one! Here we come! Here we go! See the fans! Fill the show! Cheer the team! Win this one! Verse 2 Now we're ent'ring the big arena. See all the fans are filing into their seats. Many wearing home uniforms. There, teams are warming up out on the field. And the visitors looking so tough. Do they know what the home crowd has in store for them? Getting into my seats for the big game. Now I'm ready for the big showdown here! Chorus Here we come! Here we go! See the fans! Fill the show! Cheer the team! Win this one! Some by car. Some by train. We will win this one! Here we come! Here we go! See the fans! Fill the show! Cheer the team! Win this one! Verse 3 The flag is raised today. And the teams take to the field of play. Massive cheers coming from the crowd. Our guys are raising their hands. And now they take the field. They're running hard, chasing dreams, getting to starting spots, And the ball's in the air! Let's go! Fanfare Reprise Here we go on, onto the moment we've been anticipating, the big game, Rah! Rah! Here! Here we go on! And we're waiting for the game, Rah! Rah! Rah! I can't wait another moment before. I'm anticipating the big game, Rah! Rah! Rah! Here we go on, onto the moment we've been anticipating, the big game, Rah! Rah! Yay! Notes In the initial months of the pandemic, athletic events ground to a halt, and I was really beginning to miss going to sporting events. I’ve been a Seattle Seahawk football season ticket holder since the dawn of the franchise. But other sports too. There is always so much energy in the anticipation of a game beginning. I attempted to make the lyrics general for all sports. I tried to capture the energy of a city coming to the sporting event whether it’s my Seahawks football team, or a basketball, baseball, or soccer team. Watching sports on television gets us into the action of the game itself, but for me, much of the show happens in anticipation of the game itself, and the energy of a sports crowd arriving live in person at the stadium. Interurban Fanfare paints the scene with its lyrical and musical fanfares. Musically, this is a rich dense six-part harmony both introduced and concluded with the “Fanfare” section with cascading B major entrances on “Here we go on….” In between are 3 verses and choruses. The chorus has its own cascading, “cheering the team on” fanfare as well. First 2 verses in the soprano focuses on the fans coming to the game. Verse 3 gets us right to the moment of the kickoff/tipoff/first pitch with the teams coming on the field. The melody shifts from soprano to tenor and builds right to the start of the game on a final “Let’s go!” I hope the anticipation of the big game gets you into Interurban Fanfare as well. Performance Notes: • This piece is scored for a small-to-medium vocal ensemble. • There are also parts written for hand claps. The clapping parts are intended to be a starting point for adding rhythmic emphasis. The clapping is intended to emphasize rhythms and enhance timing. This part is optional and could be left out. On the other hand, I would encourage adding the written clapping parts. • For more creativity, improvisational beat-boxing can enhance rhythms even more. Have fun with it!
