Alphasongs Orchestrations on SoundCloud Playlist

Now that it is complete, I’m featuring my Soundcloud playlist https://soundcloud.com/matthewkearns/sets/alphasongs-net-orchestrations

that is getting thousands of hits from locations around the world. These are my songs

done with six different orchestrations. A very fun way to listen to my original music in shuffle mode from over 60 files. Greetings from Matthew Kearns at www.Alphasongs.net. I’m so excited fall is around the corner and that musicians are coming back to rehearsing for the upcoming concert season. This summer, I launched the Alphasongs.net website and introduced 10 new original works for A Capella voices. You can play these scores on You Tube video’s and download perusal scores. Also, song notes and social links. Other summer projects include a 5 song release I am beginning to preview, a collaboration on a musical play scored for acapella voices and one real fun project to share now that I’m just finishing. In my studies with John Muehleisen I’ve learned how composing harmonies for singers introduces unique rules for making the melodies and harmonies work (as opposed to instrumental music). In the development of my songs, I will listen to my harmonies in different instrumentations. Sometimes the more legato sound of strings or woodwinds keeps a sustained harmony and sheds light on the harmony in moving parts whereas piano, percussion or plucked string orchestrations are most staccato and help bring out rhythms in the songs. These orchestrations are part of the development process for my songs, I hope you enjoy listening to my works in the 6 different instrumentations I use with SoundCloud on your mobile device or desktop.
