It is commonly said that music can pull on the threads of your emotions. Music can create feelings in complicated ways for some of us. But the thread of music in me has survived through a roller coaster of feelings from exhilaration and salvation to trauma and despair.
I know that being separated from my musical endeavors in the past, brought me significant trauma from my childhood and in the last decade of my life.
Although I faced this trauma mostly in my personal family life, I had this musical separation trauma in times at work and other situations. But singing and composing has a serious healing effect on the damage of musical separation traumas I've had in my past. It also has helped me to recognize that I have to establish a boundary in my relationships to only be close with those who understand and emotionally support my new found abilities to express myself in my musical work.
Music's emotional threads weave through me in complicated ways. But I truly seek connection with others in their own emotional threads of music. Pathways to healing come from connections. There is a contact form on this site if you seek similar connection in a non-transaction way.
