Sing it Forward - a Musical Relay At the beginning of this summer, I launched www.Alphasongs.net to showcase my new endeavors, pursuing my dream to compose music. I have been introducing ten original songs on this site and have recently completed a SoundCloud playlist, featuring the ten songs in six different Orchestrations .

Throughout this summer, I have been preparing a new release of 5 additional songs to my catalog . This release is getting very close. In fact, I’d like to give you an advanced preview of one of these new songs to listen to on my SoundCloud. SoundCloud - Sing it Forward

Sing it Forward is a conceptual four-part SATB acapella work. I call it a “Musical Relay”. In this work, the note, F natural is given a special role. Each of the four parts have some periods in the song where that part is “covering” the singing of F natural either by singing an F natural in that beat or having one of the other four parts temporarily singing of F Natural for the covering part. The covering part holds a baton until two parts hit F natural and the baton get passed A key result of this tonal relay baton concept is that the keynote, F natural, itself is sung by at least one part somewhere on every beat of the song. You hear that note prominently in the beginning and the end of the song, but it may be quite difficult to hear that F natural in the middle of the song as it gets underway. But if you look at the score, you’ll see the F natural in every beat of the song. This song is not yet on my website, b
