Over my life, I have truly confirmed my passion and love for the human singing voice, especially multiple voices in harmony with one another. I continue to enjoy singing with others in a variety of ways, including both the classical and contemporary a cappella genres. In fact, several years ago, I sang with a contemporary a cappella group at work and grew to love the experience of performing contemporary mixed-voice a cappella music with the ensemble for enthusiastic crowds in fun venues. I really do enjoy singing on stage! Unfortunately, it eventually because necessary to make the difficult decision to leave this group because it was in conflict with personal circumstances that resulted in my experiencing complex psychological trauma over several months. Fortunately, I received therapy, and things improved. Then the pandemic hit, and we all stopped singing. Again, I was fortunate to meet my wonderful composition teacher, John Muehleisen around the same time and introduced him to an early version of Driving Around and Round Again just a couple weeks before the pandemic was upon us. I was at a point at which I was just beginning this effort to compose my own music, which changed my primary musical focus from singing and performing into composing and music publishing.

 

I recognize and deeply appreciate the positive psychological benefits and satisfaction of singing together and learning to harmonize with others. I feel fortunate to still have the stamina and the voice to continue singing in harmony. But composing original music is truly a dream come true and has opened up a new dimension in my passion for singing together.

 

Now that I'm retiring from my professional career as a data engineer, I have the time to pursue creating music.  My composing is now a professional pursuit, and I'm so excited about sharing my Alphasongs music catalog with you. I most definitely interested about your ideas to perform Alphasongs music for your group. As far as my own singing participation locally, I'm maintaining a longtime affiliation with Kirkland Choral Society of Kirkland, WA, but I'm open to connecting with singers and groups in my local area about performing contemporary a cappella music.  I'm a lyric baritone with a ton of range and can sing most any male vocal part. Being able to share my musical expressions here with you is a personal miracle for me considering my life's challenges pursuing music.
